Vibrant Health Advocates Glasgow supports people facing health inequalities to understand their options, access the care they deserve, and take confident steps toward lasting wellbeing.
Get in touchGlasgow carries a complex health story — one shaped by decades of industrial change, persistent poverty, and the deep inequalities that still run through many of our neighbourhoods. At Vibrant Health Advocates Glasgow, we work alongside residents in the city's most underserved communities to close the gap between the health people have and the health they deserve.
We are not a clinical service. We are the trusted bridge between communities and the systems meant to serve them: helping people decode medical letters, prepare for GP appointments, navigate referral pathways, and speak up for themselves when the system feels overwhelming. Since our establishment as a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation, we have grown from a small volunteer network into a recognised voice for health equity in Glasgow — one rooted in the streets, tenements, and community halls of the people we serve.
Our trained advocates sit alongside individuals at appointments, in A&E waiting rooms, and in housing offices, ensuring no one faces the health system alone. We translate medical language into plain conversation and amplify voices that too often go unheard.
From understanding prescriptions to navigating mental health referrals, our free community workshops equip Glaswegians with the knowledge to manage their own health with confidence. Sessions run in local libraries, community centres, and faith spaces across the city.
We believe sustainable health change begins long before a crisis arrives, which is why our wellbeing programmes focus on nutrition, physical activity, and social connection in neighbourhoods where chronic illness rates are highest. Every initiative is co-designed with the community it serves.
From community halls in Drumchapel to the Clyde Walkway in Govan, our work takes shape wherever Glaswegians gather.
